Saturday August 16th in Denver

Preparations are underway towards the October 2, 2008 Safari for Hope on the Green Golf and walk event. You can participate and bring hope to Uganda by getting in touch with Christ Aid today. www.christaidinc.org Let me tell you the real story now.

Amongst the multitudes of Africans serving their communities in Colorado, David Mporampora stands out from the crowd. Not only is this gentleman from Uganda funny but he is brilliant, dynamic and charismatic. To say the least, Uganda needs this man more than he needs Uganda. As founder and leader of Christ Aid, Inc, David is a musician, educator and community leader who continues to build bridges between his impoverished nation of Uganda and the United States of America. The Christ Aid band which he leads is fascinating and has entertained throngs of peoples all over Colorado. Yes, they do not have a toll free phone number as David stated and they don’t own a TV station but i think they deserve to be all over televsion for the work that they are doing for Uganda.

Africa Envisioned with Dennis Goff

Africa from the Eyes of Dennis Goff
Saturday August 9, 2008 I travelled to Highland Ranch, Colorado where I met the Goffs exhiting African art at the Highlands Ranch Arts Festival. There we discussed Africa, what it means to be an African and things that abound in discussions about the love and beauty of Africa. For Dennis Goff, Africa is about strength of character, a love of nature, a love between father and son, mother and child, man and nature and above all courage, determination, wisdom, vision and purpose for a great continent. These are the values Dennis puts in his paintings. Dennis has not been to many of the places in Africa that he depicks in his art but has read a lot about the continent and understands what it is about. From his heart he knows the masai of Kenya, the khoisan ,the bantus and other other peoples spread across the vast continent. Africa, he explained to me, is more than just war, more than just disease and more than desperation. Africa, according to Dennis Goff is “beaty in appearance and of the heart”

Building Aurora's Future

Sunday, August 3rd, 2008

I never thought the entire city of Aurora would come out for this summer event but sure they did and right away everything ran of short supply. The projections for bottled water and other beverages, school supply giveaway and even brochures that I brought in for Africa Agenda were gone in a second. At hand were city officials, security personnel, volunteers, councilman Ryan Frazier, his family, citizens of Aurora, non profit groups such as the American red Cross, Hope Online, 97.5 FM radio, live music bands and others.

Of course, kids and adults from all age groups mingled with each other and made for a successful event. Our organization was particularly fortunate because we had a unique role to play at the event, being the tax exempt title sponsor, we signed up about 21 people to our mailing list. In the future we will be contacting these individuals and asking to attend events that we organizer. Moreover, I had the opportunity to share some teaching moments with a group of kids and adults and telling them about what a wonderful and beautiful continent Africa is, all based on Ifeaoma Oneayfulu’s “A is for Africa”. Thanks for al the members and supporters of Africa Agenda who also came out for the event.
