July 28th, 2007, at the Blair Caldwell-African American research at the Five Points district of downtown Denver-the nominees for various awards were presented with their nomination awards by Association president, Amani Ali of 850 KOA radio.

Nominees were as follows:
Broadcast Journalist of the Year-2 nominees
Nadia Gedeon of KUSA TV-channel 9 in Denver
Shaul Turner of Fox31 TV Colorado

Print Journalist of the Year-2 nominees
Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post
Elana Ashanti Jefferson of the Denver Post

Public Relations professional of the Year-2 nominees
Tracy Williams of Trade-Winds Communications
Jan Thomas of Hunt Public Relations

Grace under Fire
Alton Dillard III of the Denver Election commission

Kaiser Permanente award for Health Reporting

Winners will be announced at the Associations annual banquet-Friday August 3rd, 2007
